about

The Prongs are proud to release their latest EP. Psychogeography's four new tracks deconstruct deft city living and urban unease.
Track1. Map of a City is a terse poetic anthem for the built environment. Set against a type of twisted timeless techno, it reveals "Shortcuts took me to the top/Psychogeography messed me up... Map of a city/The hospital, the jail/Map of a city/Too big to fail."
Track 2. Truant is about cod delinquency and the eternal Lord Byron within us that makes us want to go awol.
Track 3. Did Things by Halves appears to toy with schmaltz but ultimately brings tears to the eye as the penultimate word in procrastination. From the cool cameo intro by The Shend (of The Cravats, The Very Things and Anzahlung) onwards, this tune by The Prongs reminds you of the regrets and joys of a life half-lived.
Track 4. The Photographic Brains is an epic lyrical and musical tract about Joseph Kell, One Hand Clapping, Anthony Burgess, the long career of a band that rips off The Prongs for decades, fading memories and growing old disgracefully. It deserves to be a smash hit.

about

The Prongs Dublin, Ireland

Ears tuned to the kaleidoscopic new wave, The Prongs are plugged in. Fleming’s words weave a memory net for years that never quite slipped by while Toner’s multi-instrumentalism mines eternal pop. It's a lyrical evocation of psycho-sociology and angry young manism aged into post-punk pop permanence. Dublin-based, The Prongs make literate catchy tunes fuelled by JF's lost novel The Now Now Express. ... more
